Uneducated Redneck Votes

Many of you know how this uneducated redneck voted in this election, but from the vitriol flying across social media, I don’t believe you know why I voted the way I did.

The media is saying it was the blue collar, uneducated, white males that voted Trump into office.  Friends of mine on social media are claiming this is the end of religious rights, anyone that is brown will now be deported, Muslims will face massive violence against them, and if you are a woman or a member of the LGBTQ community, you may as well hang it up since you will no longer have any rights. You are using emotion and neither logic nor science to make a point regarding gun control in the U.S.  I believe you, sir, may have barrel envy.

In your post you stated the 5.56 round tumbles and tears the body up.[1]  Now granted, I am using a shorter, much less graphic description of your post, but essentially that is what you said; and, you are both correct, and very incorrect. When will we call it terrorism without regard to religion?

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) defines domestic terrorism as:

“Domestic terrorism” means activities with the following three characteristics:

  • Involve acts dangerous to human life that violate federal or state law;
  • Appear intended (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination. or kidnapping; and
  • Occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the U.S.[1]

Nidal Malik Hasan opens fire in the Soldier Readiness Center at Fort Hood, killing 13 and wounding 30, all the while screaming, “Allah Akbar” and the government calls it workplace violence and not an act of terrorism.[2] Continue reading When will we call it terrorism without regard to religion?
